You can archive a file or folder through its context menu.
An extra listing for an archive, in addition to its normal entry within the list of all archives, can be displayed in this menu.

Files can be compressed in GZip format with different levels of quality: "Low", "Medium" and "High". Each file will be separately compressed and stored (e.g. abc.txt will be stored as abc.txt.gz).
It is also possible to save files uncompressed in their original format.
You can define this for each archive, either generally or by setting filenames, which can include wildcards like '*' and '?' for certain files.

A file or folder can be archived over multiple disks (disk spanning). If necessary, files will be split.
You can prevent uneconomic splitting of a file by setting a relationship between possible saving of space and totaldisk space.

For each archiving, you can enter a note up to 32,000 characters. It will be saved as a text file in thearchive.
Notes will be displayed under the properties of the archived object.
Notes can be changed later (if the media allows writing).

While archiving, a link to the file or folder can be created. Links will be collected in a special file. If a file with the specified name already exists, a new link will be added to the collection.

Before a transfer starts, access to all files to be archived will be checked. If the access fails, you can retry it, skip that particular file or cancel the whole process.
After starting, you will get a warning if there is not enough disk space to archive all files.
Optionally, you can check archived files and compare (verify) them with their original ones.
If you move files to an archive, deletion of the original ones will not start until all of them have been archived.
You will get feedback after the files have been archived successfully.

Files and folders can be stored according to the naming conventions of ISO 9660. Within the program, these objects will be displayed with their original names and can also be restored with them.
Files larger than 4 GB can also be archived.
Data that is only used under the NTFS file system (special attributes and streams), will not be archived. Youwill get a warning message in this case.
